For a long time (years actually) I have been looking for a suitable IPL/Laser machine. Quality, efficiency, client comfortability, training & price, those was just a few factors which I've been considering before even getting into the market of semi-permanent hair removal. And today, I am happy to announced that I have founded the right machine.

The Avalde Star is one of the few newest technology, powerful, medical grade, portable IPL system’s that successfully treat unwanted hair, fine wrinkles, pigments, freckles, sun spots, vascular lesions and acne.

The Avalde Star will also improve enlarged pores, accelerate the synthesis of collagen protein, prompting blood circulation and metabolism enhancing skin tone, texture and elasticity.

IPL utilises specific wavelengths of light to target various chromophores in the skin – the light energy converts into thermal energy to create a cellular change. It is highly effective for most healthy skin types.

Here’s how it works:
Intense Pulsed Light is a fast & easy treatment that uses short blasts of a polychromatic, high-intensity light to penetrate just below the skin's surface to absorb melanin (the dark pigment in your hair and skin) and haemoglobin (the red colour in your blood vessels). This light converts to heat, traveling into the hair follicle (or other target aria) without disrupting the skins surface. This is used as a non-invasive treatment for unwanted hair and many skin conditions.

IPL for Hair Reduction:
Hair grows in three cycles called Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. IPL most effectively interacts with hair in the Anagen (or active growth) phase, when the hair is highest in pigment (excluding white, grey & blonde hairs). The bulb is usually where the highest concentration of melanin (pigment) is located, as opposed to the rest of the hair shaft. As the light is converted to heat energy, the bulb and most of the hair shaft are instantly heated, injuring the cells.
Two or seven days after the treatment hair stubble may reappear. This is NOT new hair growth, simply the body shedding the thermally damaged hair; including the bulb.
When this hair is completely shed it's time for your next treatment (typically four to six weeks). As IPL penetrates through the skin right to the bulb of the hair, it's still OK to shave between treatments if you like, but DON’T tweeze or wax as that will remove the target.
Multiple treatments are required to accomplish permanent hair reduction – your hairs will go in and out of their respective phases and we aim to catch them in the anagen phase. On average a minimum 20% reduction will be noticed in the initial treatment and as much as 95% reduction can be realised in four to six sequential 4-6 weekly treatments.
Immediately following treatment you may experience some redness and/or warmth at the treatment site, which is normal and can be cooled with cold wet compresses if desired. It is recommended to avoid sun, vigorous exercise, perfumed deodorants, heavily chlorinated pools and / or hot showers/baths, saunas, etc. for 12 – 24 hours after.
Being hair free is easier than you think – you’ll be so rapt to start!

IPL for Capillaries
Our dermis contains extensive networks of arteries, veins and tiny blood vessels beds called capillaries. Over time, ageing, trauma, sun exposure and certain lifestyle factors will create damage, and they start appearing as small fine red veins on the face. Great news - IPL therapy can eliminate these blemishes and reduce their reappearance with maintenance treatments!
Immediate disappearance of small facial Telangiectasia – small vessels commonly referred to as 'spider veins' typically found on the side of the nose or upper cheek area may disappear immediately after the treatment. This will depend largely on the size (diameter) and depth of the vessel. As opposed to the side of the nose or upper cheek where vessels may disappear instantly or within a few days, the deeper, thicker vessels (spider veins) often found on the lower legs will take longer (many weeks in some cases) to resolve and typically darken and constrict subsequent to treatment. The pulsed light systems are NOT designed to treat large leg veins and typically will NOT resolve veins effectively which are greater that 2mm in diameter at greater than 2mm depths.
Although this is classified as a ‘no downtime’ treatment, slight bruising, redness and swelling are common and may last from 1-7 days. Some clients only experience a slight pinkness to the skin with no bruising at all, but to be safe allow 14 days prior to an important event (same as for pigmentation reduction).

IPL for Pigmentation
Pigmentation occurs when melanin (pigment) is produced excessively, or when it cannot be distributed through your epidermis evenly (due to other cellular factors). This result in dark patches frequently called age spots or sunspots. This issue is exacerbated by environmental factors such as sun damage, perfume, the use of artificial colours and dyes found in skincare and makeup, internal factors such as EFA deficiency, & medication use as well as post inflammatory pigmentation caused by trauma to the skin. Hormones can also influence pigment production, making it much harder to treat (IPL is usually not effective alone). Regardless of whether you intentionally spend time exposed to sunlight your homecare requirement is to wear a broad spectrum 15-30+ Sunscreen each and every day. We also can tailor a ‘pigment punch’ program to help control over excited melanocytes & improve skin quality.
Darkening of pigmented lesions may occur within a few minutes and/or up to a few hours subsequent to your IPL treatment. Clinically effective treatments will cause pigmented lesions to darken prior to drying out and sloughing off, which may take several days to two weeks. Fantastic for faces, necks, chests and back of hands! Turn back the clock and have clearer, brighter looking skin.

IPL Photo Rejuvenation ‘PHOTOFACIAL’
The visible signs of ageing cannot be fully avoided, but can be dramatically minimised with smart intervention & educated awareness of internal & external factors that affect how quickly cellular ageing occurs! The key is to do it as gently as possible – respecting the skin is paramount to success!
As far as the skin is concerned there are two types of aging — intrinsic  and extrinsic. Intrinsic aging involves the inevitable; as we grow older, our cells are also ageing & undergoing changes. Diminished amounts of collagen makes the skin less elastic. What used to bounce back begins to sag. Static, deep wrinkles may begin appearing. The rate of these events is determined genetically & also through extrinsic (or environmental) ageing. It is the critical element in determining who looks older or younger than their biological age. Exposure to sunlight is a key contributor to extrinsic ageing, as is cigarette smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, high sugar diets, IBS, insignificant water consumption, high caffeine load, refined food products, medications & stress.
Studies that look at the microscopic changes in the dermis after photorejuvenation find that there is an overall increase in collagen, the collagen fibers are more neatly arranged (as opposed to disordered and fractured in photodamaged skin) and the activity of cells that make collagen & elastin (fibroblasts) is increased. This improves the tightness of the skin, controlling enlarged pores, and giving a more uniform plump, dewy, youthful complexion. 30min Treatments are carried out every 4 weeks and 6-12 treatments are recommended for maximum results, especially fantastic when combined with our other modalities. We can design a program to suit your skin! Obviously our cosmedical skincare and unique range of cosmetics that is as naturally based as possible will enhance & maintain your results, which is why we have everything that we need to treat your skin effectively right here.
